Year 6 Prepare for Easter
This week, Year 6 explored the story of Jesus's betrayal and trial. We read the story to each other, with each pupil having a verse to reflect on and read. Afterwards, we discussed Jesus' trial in more detail, debating whether or not the trial was fair based on the evidence provided by John in his Gospel.
The children decided on criteria such as whether there was a fair accusation made against him, whether he was given an opportunity to defend himself and whether the person making the final decision was unbiased.
They turned this debate into a wonderful balanced argument in their RE books, giving their final judgement.
Elsewhere this week:
- The children wrote their own short stories in English as part of our school-wide short story competition.
- In Science, we explored the refraction of light, trying to make our own rainbow outside with the hose. The end result was mostly Mr Hegarty getting wet but we did see a small glimmer of a rainbow on the ground.
