Year 1 - World Book Day & Science week

The Year 1 children had so much fun on World Book Day. They loved dressing up in their PJs and sharing their favourite books with their friends. They also loved reading with the Year 4 children during the morning and having the parents visiting in the afternoon. We hope you have taken advantage of using your Book Voucher at the Scholastic School Book fair or used it at a bookshop to purchase a new book and encourage your child's love for reading.

Science Week got off to an exciting start with an assembly presented by ROBOTICS X. We experienced a real robot, walking, begging and sitting just like a dog! A new club will begin after Easter, so do look out for the details as the children were enthralled. The Year 1 children have studied Ada Lovelace as their famous STEM person. They have learnt that she was an amazing mathematician and considered the first computer programmer. The children enjoyed sharing the facts they had learnt about Ada Lovelace in the sharing assembly on Friday. They also became real-life code writers during the day, writing codes and de-coding with their peers. KS1 went onto enjoy a carousel of Science activities throughout the afternoon. We hope they have enjoyed their Science Week and share some of the fun things they have learnt with you.
