Y6 SSAS Camp Apple & Pear Tree Class

Year 6s at the school during the Isle of Wight trip, renamed themselves Apple and Pear Tree Class. They created wonderfully illustrated books to share with Reception children, including a story about a clumsy monkey, a shark who wanted to be different and two non-fiction books about dinosaurs and puffer fish. They made a beautifully painted volcano, using vinegar and bicarbonate of soda to create lava, and moulded clay for models including a fearsome T-Rex. The den they built had many rooms for games, drawing, reading and sleeping with cushions and materials for added comfort. Whilst pond dipping, they discovered and identified newts and other tiny creatures. Later, they tested their culinary skills by making a delicious rocky road and decorating biscuits. What a great week!
