Victoria Ohuruogu
British championship medalist Victoria Ohuruogu paid SSAS a visit this Thursday. She ran a circuit training session which 4 activities: spotty dogs, mountain climbers, press ups and star jumps. The children were tired but proud at the end of the session!
PSHE
The focus this week has been on building others up. The children have learned the definition of the terms fairness, bullying, discrimination, prejudice and protected characteristics. They have `also discussed the significance and impact these things can have on people.
Science
We planned an investigation to see what affects the width of a shadow. The children had many good ideas for what variables we could have and how to conduct the investigation. Afterwards, we discussed what we would do differently if the investigation were to be repeated, and we considered how we could make the investigation more fair.
Rehearsals
All children have done fantastically well to learn their lines. This week, we’ve focussed on ensuring children know where to enter and exit the stage, as well as working on fine-tuning the reading of certain lines.
Prop making
We’ve started making props for our end-of-year production. Please look out for a message from the school office which gives further information about this.
Have a lovely weekend! 🌞
