Maths
This week, the children had the chance to draw and construct nets for various 3D shapes. They had fun testing different nets to see if they would fold into a 3D shape, and they learned the names of some unknown shapes, e.g. an icosahedron! Some of the children also learned the importance of including tabs to stick the shapes together!
Science
Year 6 finished their investigation to see what affects the brightness of a bulb or the speed of a motor. The child made a basic circuit using two wires, a bulb/motor and a battery, then they added either more bulbs, batteries or motors to the circuit to see if there was any change in the brightness of the bulb or the speed of the motor. They used a brightness scale from 1-10 to record how bright the bulb or the bulbs were, and used a similar scale to record the speed of a motor.
Music
This week during music lessons the children have been exploring using ‘found sounds’ to creature music using recording software on the iPads. They enjoyed editing the sounds of classroom equipment, rolling dice and their own voices!
Have a lovely weekend!
