SSAS 90th Anniversary Mass

On Tuesday, we went to the church for our school’s 90th anniversary mass. We were joined by Bishop Paul and members of the Sisters of Mercy along with some of our governors.We sang some beautiful hymns such as the Suscipe of Catherine McAuley ,Psalm 23 and Shine Jesus Shine.

Art

Throughout the last the last few days, we have started a new topic in art about mixed media. We learnt about different artists who combined painting with embroidery, such as Alice Kettle. We made marks of different patterns and then made a design for our artwork which is going to be painted on a material calico.

 

Sports Day

Today, KS2 participated in sports day!

We competed in several different activities like javelin and the long jump and we all enjoyed ourselves. Everyone showed good sportsmanship towards the overall winners: St Bernadette. We are very grateful and thankful for all the work Mr Wallace and the sports ambassadors put in to such a special day.
