The children didn’t let the rainy start to the week dampen their spirits, and they impressed us by how well they settled back on Monday morning.
RE
We have started a new topic of Transformation, and have looked at what energy is. We then considered ways we could waste less energy and use more renewable energy in school.
English
The children have begun a new topic linked to the book The London Eye Mystery written by the late author Siobhan Dowd. Throughout the unit, the children will be exploring and experimenting with writing different viewpoints. This week we have read a few chapters of the book and the children have used their inference skills to describe characters. They then wrote a character description in the character of the protagonist, Ted.
Maths
We began the week by recapping work done on fractions and solving problems using various method. Later in the week we started a new topic on converting units of measure, and have looked at fraction and decimal equivalents of metric units of measurement, as well as converting between larger and smaller units.
Computing
Continuing our work on the Mars Rover, today we looked at how to give instructions to a rover and how many days it would take to complete a mission.
PE
This term we have begun a new unit on tennis. This week, the children learned how to pass the ball to each other.
Have a lovely weekend!
