Our Year 5 Pupil Chaplains led a lovely Harvest Festival Celebration for Upper and Lower School. We had great fun singing catchy Harvest songs like ‘Cauliflowers Fluffy’ and ‘Harvest Samba’ together and learnt more about why we celebrate Harvest. The Pupil Chaplains re-enacted the Parable of the Sower and led us in our prayers. Finally, Liz Peel from the St Alban’s Food Bank told us all about how the Food Bank helps people. She was delighted to see that we had collected an incredible 15 crates of food and hygiene supplies to donate to the foodbank! Thank you so much to everyone who sent in a donation and lived out their faith by helping those in need as Jesus taught us to.
A Prayer for Harvest
God of all,
Open our eyes to see the needs of our brothers and sisters.
Open our ears to hear your words of hope.
Open our mouths to speak up when people are suffering.
Open our hearts, to reach out in love.
Sow a seed of love in our hearts
that we might grow with you by our side
and be a Harvest for the world.
Amen.
