On Friday, some of the children in Year 5 went to the O2 in London to take part in the Young Voices concert.
There were around 8,000 children attending in total and it was an experience we will never forget. The sound of the children’s voices was incredible and our children danced and sang their hearts out! We also enjoyed watching the Urban Strides Dance Group and listened to an incredible performance from the Beatbox collective and classical violinist Anna Phoebe. We also sang with Heather Small and our voices will be featuring on a recording of ‘Proud’ that will be released soon!
A special mention to Genevieve, Esme, Eleanor and Olga for making our wonderful banner that could be seen across the arena!
This is what some of the children from Year 5 said about the day:
“Young Voices was awesome! The best thing that’s ever happened to me! It was exhausting, but I did not stop!”
“It was an amazing experience and I had the best time listening to the violinist”
“It was the most thrilling experience of my life and I’m jealous of the year 4’s who still have the excitement to come!”
“It was amazing! There was street dance and beatboxing. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
“Super fun! The beatboxers were amazing and the lights felt almost magical.”
“Young Voices was extraordinary. The lights were rainbow and they also looked like stars. When the lights went out, everyone started screaming and waving their lights around.”
“It was great fun getting to sing in a big choir and dance to some songs. An amazing experience.”
