Both Rowan and Chestnut classes have settled well into Year 3 and have been working hard across the curriculum.
In English, the children have enjoyed reading our class book Stone Age boy by Satoshi Kitamura linked to our history topic of Prehistoric Britain.
In Maths, the children have revisited place value – the fundamental base knowledge for all areas of maths.
The highlight of the week, however, was our visit to Ss Alban & Stephen Catholic Church on Friday. The children had an opportunity to meet with Fr Michael to learn about the main features of a church, such as the font, lectern, altar and the tabernacle. The children discovered the significance of each feature and asked Fr Michael some thoughtful questions to further develop their knowledge.
We thank Fr Michael for making us feel very welcome and teaching us what makes the church such a special place.
