Science (STEM) week gave us the opportunity to focus on science and technology this week. Our current science topic is ‘Forces & Magnets’ and we have been investigating forces all this week. We looked in particular at pneumatics which is the force exerted by compressed air. Using two syringes and plastic tubing we made a monster with a moving jaw. The children were delighted with their new toy and enjoyed pneumatic force to open and close their wonderfully made monster’s mouth. In addition we had a parent STEM presentation by Mr Ponzo who kindly came in to share his knowledge and passion for cars with the year 3 children. We found out how cars are made and the children also designed their own cars.
