After having read the poem ‘Instructions’ by Neil Gaiman, Year 3 wrote a set of instructions for Little Red Riding Hood on World Book Day. To keep her safe and to help her avoid any problems with Big Bad Wolves, we thought it would be a good idea to guide her journey from her mother’s to her grandma’s house. Our instructions included not talking to anyone on the way, especially animals; always remain on the path and never get distracted by anything no matter how interesting or amusing it looks. We used imperative verbs for our instructions and produced an instruction manual for Little Red Riding Hood’s journey to her grandmother’s.
