Year 2 had such an exciting trip to London today. First, they travelled by coach to The Royal Mews. While Cherry class visited the Mews, Willow Class went to the front of Buckingham Palace. We walked into St James Park and over to The Mall. Willow Class were lucky enough to see the Changing of the Guard. The children were so excited to see some of the landmarks that we have been talking about. We could see London Eye in the distance from St James’s Park. In the afternoon we swapped over and Willow Class went to visit the Royal Mews to see the golden carriage used in the King’s coronation. Meanwhile Cherry Class walked through St James Park to Horse Guard’s Parade where we saw the Guards on horseback standing watch. We also had some free time to play in St James’s park. It has been a wonderful half term learning about London and it has been great to experience for the children to get to visit and see some of London’s famous landmarks. Thank you to all the parents and helpers for making this trip possible. We can’t wait to see the children’s final pieces of work to end the term.
