Today we had the experience of meeting with a mosaic artist! Year 2 participated in adding tiles or glass onto a concrete slab. Audrey showed the children how to choose the colour tile, add the glue onto the rough side and stick in the focused area. Together we have created flowers, fields and sunsets. This will then go into the upper site prayer garden. We are excited to see the finished outcome.
Giant poetry
This week we had a workshop with an author called Simon Moles. He showed us how to create a poem about dinosaurs. We focused on ‘What a herd means’.
Drawing small
Today in art Year 2 focused on their drawing skills and making conscious choices with their mark making. We collected different items that were smaller or as small as a 5p coin. Then we scattered the objects over our book, took a sharp pencil and made sure we were observing the objects closely. We had to make tiny movements with our hands and fingers.
