What a wonderful week we’ve had in Year 2! On Wednesday, the children took part in an exciting bug hunt, exploring various habitats around the school. They scoured leaf piles, logs, rocks, and flowers, discovering a treasure trove of creepy crawlies. The highlights of the day were the fascinating ants, cheeky woodlice, busy beetles, and well-hidden worms. It was a fantastic way to connect with nature and learn about our local ecosystem in science.
As part of Mental Health Week, we held a special PSHE and e-safety lesson. In PSHE, we discussed the six key components of good mental health: joy, inclusion, giving, sleep, active, and wow! It was lovely to hear the children share what brings them joy and how they stay active. In our e-safety lesson, we focused on the importance of strong passwords. I wonder if you have a chat to your child about this could they share three things that are essential for creating a strong password?
Next week, we are eagerly looking forward to starting our whole school book, Flotsam by David Wiesner. It’s sure to spark some wonderful discussions and creativity in our class!
