This week in our History lesson, we have been comparing new cars to old cars. We were very fortunate to get a visit from Mr Cotterell, who brought in a car from the 1970’s! The children compared this car to Mr Miller’s, from 2015. Year 1 were very excited to explore the two cars and compare the different features. Some very cool features of the car from the 1970’s was the cars suspension, which could raise high off the ground. In the modern car, lots of fun was had fiddling with all the different electronic buttons. Afterwards, the children drew their own picture of the old car and labelled/described some of the features that make it unique, such as the antenna, large bonnet (with a tyre and toolbox inside) and steering wheel on the left hand side.
