National Poetry Week was celebrated in Year 1 with Simon Mole, the great poet and writer.
The children loved his poetry and his knowledge of dinosaurs and were encouraged to think about different ways to describe ‘a herd’.
We wrote a collaborative poem, bringing all our ideas together.
Year 1 also had the great opportunity to visit the Upper Site and help create some new mosaic art which will eventually decorate our new Prayer Garden.
The children spent an hour carefully placing mosaic pieces onto the prepared picture. Here are some photographs of their great work.
Finally, we celebrated a wonderful Harvest Assembly with Fr John this morning. He was so good at explaining the Gospel to the children, getting the children to act out being farmers and planting seeds! The children had been so generous with all their Harvest donations, the display of food and household items was truly amazing.
Many thanks for living out our Catholic Social Teaching, as Jesus taught us to share with those that are less fortunate than us.
