We have certainly got our new term off with a BLAST!
Firstly, we have started our new book in English which is all about Space. The children have been designing posters to encourage people to LOOK UP! The children will be looking up to spot stars, the moon and maybe even a meteor shower. Do ask your child what this is as we have been learning about them in class.
Our History topic this term is learning about the significant dates of explorations into Space. We shall also learn about the planets and famous astronauts that have been in space.
In ICT the child are making lists on the i-Pads of things they would need to create a rocket.
In Art today we started to learn about our new artist, Andy Goldsworthy. He always creates art based on nature and uses the natural colours that he sees. The children had lots of fun collecting fallen leaves from our wonderful school grounds and then used pastels to complete leaf rubbings. They discussed the changing colours of the season and carefully selected colours that matched the autumnal colours that we could observe.
Wishing you all a restful weekend and we hope you enjoy some fireworks.
