Rehearsals
The week began with a read-through of the children’s scripts in groups. The children have read with an impressive level of expression and clarity and are now focusing on incorporating stage directions into their voices through actions.
There was also the opportunity to list resources needed for props and scenery and we used iPads to research costume ideas.
Green Day
The children enjoyed a variety of activities including making smoothies by cycling, weaving wool to create ‘God’s Eye’ and orienteering.
Art
As part of their Art As Activism topic, Year 6 used card to create stencils and used these to design posters for a cause of their choice. Many children choose an environmental theme, linked to Green Day. We were very impressed with the results!
Computing
Linked to our WW2 history topic and Bletchley Park, the children learned about the purpose of code. They then had a go at cracking a variety of code types including Caesar cipher, pig pen, acrostic paragraph, Nth letter cipher and date shift cipher.
Have a lovely weekend!
