On Wednesday, we celebrated the start of the new school year together as a school community by sharing in a beautiful Mass. Key Stage 2 pupils, parents and staff gathered together at Ss Alban and Stephen Church, while Key Stage 1 and Early Years joined in the Mass back at school via Livestream.
Year 4 led the Mass reverently with thoughtful readings, prayers, lovely solos and a hymn, ‘You are My All in All’, which the Year 4 Choir sang after Communion.
During the Mass, Father Andrew welcomed all of our new staff and pupils and also gave a special blessing to our Year 5 and 6 Pupil Chaplains and Prayer Leaders as they begin their new roles.
Thank you to Father Andrew, who celebrated the Mass. As it was also the Feast Day of St Matthew, Father Andrew spoke to us about how we can be like St Matthew and share the Good News this year, living out our faith every day.
One parent commented afterwards, “Thank you for such a beautiful Mass. It was so peaceful and moving.”
