We were delighted to welcome our Y6 children back this week and despite the bitterly cold weather they have started the year with warmth and enthusiasm!
We celebrated Epiphany through our Mark Ten assemblies and in an RE lesson we considered what the Magi’s expectations were of Jesus. The children also took part in their first session of Christian Meditation which they all participated in maturely and sensibly. It is always wonderful to see how our children connect with God in our school community.
The children also took part in an Anti-Racism workshop on Thursday afternoon. Through scenarios and discussions, the children were guided through reasons why we need to continue to work hard to combat racism in all forms, considering even the micro-aggressions of getting a name wrong or making assumptions. The children were enthusiastic and positive in their approach, which you can see in the photos below showing the slogans they created and the tableaus they acted out. It has been an uplifting start to 2025.
We wish you all a lovely weekend!
