Year 2 had a very busy week of learning. In maths this week the children have been learning to calculate doubles and near doubles. They have also been regrouping numbers to 20 using part whole models. In English they finished the week writing a postcard to Aunt Lucy from Paddington. They have used the skills they have learned this week to write a lovely descriptive postcard using noun phrases and conjunctions.
We have also been learning about new beginnings in RE. We spoke about new beginning we experienced in our lives and how they made us feel. The children wrote about their new beginnings and illustrated this with a lovely picture. We have now started our Geography topic ‘London’. We identified London on the map and we are really looking forward to our trip next month.
Finally, we are also looking forward to our trip next week to Room for Dessert. A gentle reminder to please make sure you have given consent for your child on arbor.
