We have had a very exciting second week back into the Spring 2 half term in Reception. On Monday, we were very lucky to have some eggs delivered for us to look after. On Wednesday, 9 fluffy chick eggs hatched and gave us some new furry friends. Next week we are going to get to hold them and do observational drawings of them!
On Thursday, we celebrated World Book Day!! We dressed up as our favourite characters from a book and shared why we love that character so much! Here are some of the lovely costumes.
At the end of the day we were very lucky to be read with by some parents and carers from our class! Thank you!!
For our new story ‘Giraffes Cant Dance’, we have been learning about the beginning, middle and end of a story. We looked at particular parts of the story and did a freeze frame of the pictures. Our classmates had to guess which characters we were being!! We had lions doing the tango, giraffe’s taking a bow or looking at the moon or doing a dance, hippos having a laugh and much more lovely acting… Can you guess what part we are acting out?
This helped us to be able to sequence the events in the story and write a simple sentence about our favourite parts of the story.
