Nicholas Breakspear Taster Day
On Tuesday, many of our children were fortunate to experience a Taster Day at Nicholas Breakspear school.
Izzy and Edward said of the experience:
We participated in multiple different lessons: English, science, RE and Art. We experienced many teachers and some students from the school helped us find our way around and answer any questions we had. We all got a taste of what secondary school was like.
Charlene said she really liked the lessons, especially Chemistry lesson where they mixed different acids and alkalis.
Additionally, please be aware that Nicholas Breakspear will be running a summer multi-sports camp at the end of July and throughout the first 3 weeks of August. This will be run by the teachers of Nicholas Breakspear and so will be especially beneficial for any children considering joining this school, who can then meet some of their potentially new teachers.
Design and Technology
This week, the children have sketched onto calico material, the landscapes drawings they drew in their sketchbooks last week. They then painted the background on these, and on Thursday, the children began to embroider their calico with assorted coloured thread, to embellish it. We were very impressed with the children’s resilience in the face of threading needles and untangling thread!
We hope you have a lovely weekend!
