On Friday, everyone in St Bernadette’s House gathered together to celebrate the feast-day of St Bernadette and learn more about their patron saint. Everyone wore green (the House colour) and the prayer table was decorated with a green cloth, flowers and a statue of Mary, all of which are part of St Bernadette’s story.
Our St Bernadette’s Pupil Chaplains and Prayer Leaders told everyone the amazing story of St Bernadette’s vision of Mary at Lourdes. We prayed together, wrote our prayers for the world on green crosses and also sang ‘Ave Maria’ and ‘Shine!’
Afterwards, we enjoyed a celebration playtime with a treat of delicious biscuits baked by our Upper Site cook, Mrs Lepratti.
We hope that we continue to ‘Shine’ as St Bernadette did, following her example of determination and faith at home, in school and out in our community.
