This week, Reception had their very own sports day! Although it was a little different to normal years the children still had a lot of fun! The children were put into 3 groups and completed a rotation of 6 different activities. They did Javelin throwing and there was lots of double point scoring going on for such long throws! They practised their balancing skills and they negotiated their way around cones with a bean bag balanced on their tennis rackets. A tricky obstacle course over the climbing frame was fun for all with lots of cheering to make it to the end. They also practised their jumping skills with the ladders and hurdles as well as their aiming skills to get beanbags in the hoops to score maximum points. The funniest activity was a relay race to complete a tea set with cup, saucer and spoon. Everyone took part in all the activities, tried their best and supported their team mates brilliantly. To finish off our great morning, we also had an ice lolly!
