Science Week in Year 4 began with a visit from Mrs. Gordon. She talked about her job as an engineer and showed us examples of different projects that her company had worked on. We talked about how to make a structure strong. The children were given a task of building a tower, using spaghetti and marshmallows. They designed their towers and then worked as a team to build the towers. The children were really proud of the towers that they built.
We had fun investigating electrical circuits and discovered that the circuit needed to be compete for the light bulb to come on.
Our Science Week ended with a visit from Mrs. Dickens. She talked to us about her job as an engineer and we discussed the skills that are needed to be an engineer. We thought that Maths, Science. team work and creativity are all important skills.
We would like to thank both our parent volunteers for preparing such interesting and informative sessions – many of our children are now considering a future career in Engineering!
