What a busy week it has been! We have had so much fun celebrating Science Week, packed full of exciting activities and hands-on learning.
Our week began with an interesting visit from an engineer, who helped us build bridges and understand the science behind their strength. We were amazed at how everyday materials could be used to create sturdy structures! This was followed by a fascinating presentation by the same engineer. She showed us some amazing bridges built by her company. Wow!
Next we had a special visit from the animal guy, bringing along some amazing creatures for us to meet. We were thrilled (and maybe a little nervous!) to touch gerbils, snakes, rabbits, and even a gecko. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn about different animals up close.
Science experiments were also on the agenda! We conducted investigations into absorbency, testing which materials soak up the most water. It was messy, fun, and full of discovery.
On top of all this, we worked incredibly hard to plan and present our curriculum assembly, showcasing everything we have been learning this year. Our Year Two children shone brightly, making us all so proud.
And if that wasn’t enough, we still managed to fit in our maths, writing, RE, PE and English lessons – a true testament to our hard work and enthusiasm.
After such an action-packed week, we’re sure everyone will be ready for a well-earned rest this weekend. Well done, Year Two!
