In Science this week, we have been continuing to learn about sound. We did an investigation to explore how the pitch of a sound can be changed. We used five identical glass bottles with different levels of water in them. We tapped the bottles with a metal spoon and listened carefully. The more water in the bottle, the lower the sound.
In History, we have been learning about the Anglo Saxons. We found out that they lived in villages, in wooden houses. We made our own three dimensional models of the houses that they lived in.
We also found out about Anglo Saxon jewellery and designed our own brooches. The designs were often symmetrical, with star-shaped or circular patterns. Next week we will be using the technique of tooling to create our own brooches, using our designs. We even listened to some Anglo Saxon music, while we created our designs.
