This week in Reception, we have continued learning about celebrations, festivals and commemorations. We began by sharing stories from our Bonfire Night weekends. We made artwork taking influence from Jackson Pollock, who invented drip painting. We experimented with straws to create our own.
Later in the week we learnt about Remembrance Day, thinking about the events that took place in the past. We made our own poppies to show our respect and to remind everyone the importance of ‘Peace’.
In Maths, we have been learning about repeating patterns. We have created our own repeating patterns using a range of resources.
We read the bible story of Daniel and the lions. We learnt more about our school values from the story. Just like us, Daniel had faith in God and showed determination when he faced challenges in life. We wrote prayers and created lions to remember the story.
