This week we had to say goodbye to our beautiful butterflies as they were ready to explore the world. We watched as they went soaring above the playground to find a new home and make new friends.
In RE and PSHE this week we have been focusing on the topic of ‘friendship’. The children thought about how they can be a good friend and what they can do to make new friends. We decided to make a class friendship paper chain to celebrate that we are all friends in Reception.
This week the children have been very creative making their own minibeasts using lots of different materials. Some children decided to use junk modelling to make their own minibeasts. They had to think about the different materials they wanted to use and how they were going to join them together. Some children also decided to use playdough to make their minibeasts. They used different tools to shape the playdough and then used pipe cleaners, googly eyes and beads to add detail to their creatures. They all looked amazing!!
Now that the sunshine has finally come out, we have been able to unveil our new outdoor performing area. The children have really enjoyed expressing themselves in different ways, through singing, dancing, acting and playing musical instruments. It was wonderful to see the children continue to develop their confidence and celebrate their many talents!
As we come to the end of a busy half term, we want to say a big well done to all the children. They have all worked really hard this term and we are so proud of their resilience, creativity and enthusiasm to learn. Have a wonderful break everyone and we will see you soon!
