Wow! What an amazing first half term we have had in Reception. We all can’t believe how fast it has gone! We are blown away by how well the children have transitioned into their new year group and we are all incredibly proud! In Autumn 2, our topic will be ‘Night and Day’, and we know it’s going to be even more fun than we’ve already had!
For our topic ‘Marvellous Me’, we have been learning about Elmer in great detail. Last week the children made their beautiful watercolour paintings of their own unique elephant. This week, the children have been using their fantastic phonics to write some labels for their elephant. Some children even tried to write a short sentence!!
The children have also put to use the milk bottles you’ve kindly donated, by making their own 3D Elmer. The children helped decorate the milk bottles using tissue paper and PVA glue.
We have also finished our topic Baptism in RE. The children did an amazing job re-enacting what a Baptism would look like. The children were using brilliant key words, such as ‘priest’, ‘font’ and ‘baptismal candle’ to describe the event. During CIL, some children decided to make some lovely drawings of their own Baptism.
We hope you have a lovely half term and we can’t wait to see you in November!!
