Phonics – Learn to Write ‘r’ or ‘qu’
For our final lesson this week, we are looking back at our new sound from the previous week! This is a writing focus, so make sure you have a pen or pencil to join in with Mr Miller as he writes. You do not need to watch both videos, so please refer to the Tapestry Phonics Memo to see which sound your child should be focusing on this week.

Literacy – The Gingerbread Man – Writing CVC Words
Get your writing resources at the ready! For this lesson you can follow along with me in the video and have a go at writing some of these CVC words! As a challenge, you might want to have a go at writing a couple of short sentences too!

Handwriting – ‘i’ family (u, y)
This week, we are moving onto the next two letters in the ‘i’ family, which are ‘u’ and ‘y’. Watch the videos below to demonstrate how we form our letters. You can use the Blank Handwriting Sheet if needed. Please use the Handwriting Guidance to see the way we teach cursive handwriting throughout the school.

Following on from the new sound we learnt on Monday, todays lesson will be focusing on segmenting words for spelling! In this lesson, it would be great if you could grab a pen and join along with me! You do not need to watch both videos, so please refer to the Tapestry Phonics Memo to see which sound your child should be focusing on this week.

1) ‘u’ CVC cut or write – you can cut the letters out and place them in the correct spaces to form a word that matches the picture. You could challenge yourself by writing the word!

Literacy – The Gingerbread Man – Creating Thought Bubbles
Today we are going to be choosing different moments in the story and considering what a particular character might be thinking. You can draw a picture of the character and a thought bubble above their head. Your grown up can then help you to scribe down your ideas!

PE with Miss Bowen – The Bean Game
This week I have recorded the Bean Game for you to play. Make sure you get your heart pumping fast, can you remember how we checked our heart beat, before and after our exercise? Maybe you could show your adult how to do it?
After the game, can you thinking of some different animals and how they might move to the music (link below), maybe someone can guess which animal you are pretending to be.
Music with Mrs Flatt – The Gruffalo Song
I noticed that Miss Holmes read the story of the Gruffalo last week, so this week I thought we could learn the Gruffalo song in our music lesson. I hope you enjoy it!

This week we are continuing our work on ‘Pattern Recognition’! We are going to be creating lots of different types of patterns and understanding how each individual sequence works.

This week we are focusing on celebrations in Church as well as looking at what can be found in a church for a different game of ‘I Spy’.
First, look at Celebrations in Church to look at what we typically celebrate in Church. Then, follow the video for a game of I Spy (you will need to pause to take time to spot the different items) and a prayer.

– See if you can play the spotting game yourselves with St Alban and Stephen Church I Spy
– You could also have a go at making a Stained Glass Window. Or decorate The Our Father Prayer
