This week has been absolutely fantastic in our classrooms, and we couldn’t be prouder of the children! They have worked remarkably hard on crafting persuasive leaflets about all the exciting places Katie visited in London (our key text). It was wonderful to see them employing persuasive noun phrases and incorporating all the essential features of leaflets, such as clever subheadings and key information. Next week the children are applying their skills to writing a leaflet to persuade other classes to take a school trip to either The Royal Mews or Buckingham Palace.
In maths, we’ve been focusing on our addition skills, particularly adding single digits to 20 and using regrouping techniques to think in tens. For instance, they tackled problems like 9 + 5, transforming it into 10 + 4 = 14. It’s impressive to witness their growing confidence in these concepts.
Looking ahead, we are all buzzing with excitement for our D&T sculpture project, which we’ll be completing next week. Well done to everyone for a brilliant week of learning! Keep up the great work!
