Congratulations to our new year 5 and 6 Squabble Squashers, who successfully completed a one-day Peer Mediation course led by the charity Mediation Hertfordshire. The Squabble Squashers spent the day learning about conflict resolution and mediation techniques. After their final assessment, the Squabble Squashers will be out on duty in the playground every day to help their fellow pupils to sort out any minor arguments or ‘squabbles’.
Ms Wheeler, the course leader, was very pleased by the way that our new peer mediators engaged in their training, and commented, ” I was really impressed with some of the some fantastic insights to the world at large that they had, along with lots of empathy about difficult situations and a desire to help their fellow pupils. I think they will do a really great job!”
Our Squabble Squashers are helping us to live out our mission as a Catholic school by volunteering during their break times to spread our school values of Friendship and Unity.
