Year 4 had a great time during the NSPCC Number Day. After completing their weekly times tables test, the children took part in a carousel of activities. These were: playing Blackjack (21), playing maths games on the iPads, answering money word problems, playing times tables bingo and creating a coin coat of arms.
All children (and staff!) also tried to use their estimation skills to guess the amount of chocolate eggs in the jar. Can you guess how many eggs there were?
This week the children were learning about:
English: Subordinate clauses e.g. Slinking silently, Hogarth approached the enormous hole where the Iron Man lay.
The Iron Man, whose head was the size of a bedroom, peered down at the tiny boy Hogarth.
Maths: Money
Converting amounts into decimals e.g. 1025p = £10.25
We also looked at creating one amount using different combinations of coins and notes.
Have a good weekend!
