This week in Reception, we had a wonderful time exploring stories, art, and celebrating World Poetry Day!
We read the Bible story of Noah’s Ark. The children were fascinated by how Noah built a huge ark to save the animals from the flood. After the story, we got creative with paints, making beautiful pictures of rainbows, arks, and doves. The children also enjoyed playing with our large wooden ark, acting out the story with toy animals. To celebrate World Poetry Day, we sang a fun Noah song and practiced some counting songs, which everyone enjoyed!
Over the course of the week, we read the lovely book “Once There Were Giants,” which helped us learn all about growing up and how much we’ve changed over time. The children had a great time making their own baby books, showing what they looked like as babies and how they look now. It was fun to reflect on how much they’ve grown!
It’s been a busy, creative week full of stories, art, and singing! We’re so proud of the children’s enthusiasm and can’t wait for more exciting activities next week.
