There has been lots going on over the last few weeks including a chance for our Y5 children to hit the top of the charts with their latest release! In February, they were recorded at the 02 singing ‘Proud’ with Heather Small and the charity single is out now and can be downloaded for 99p from Amazon and itunes.
Our KS2 choir recently performed at the Alban Arena last week with other primary schools from St Albans. The theme was ‘flight’ and included songs such as ‘Those magnificent men in their flying machines’, ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’, ‘Eagle’ by Abba, ‘A whole new world’ and ‘The Final Countdown’. Our children were superstars – their singing was beautiful and included lovely harmonies too. Here is a picture of them rehearsing at the Arena on the day of the concert.
Finally, our orchestra have been learning 2 new pieces that we hope to share in the near future. A ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ medley and Coldplay’s ‘Viva La Vida’ which has been arranged for our Orchestra by one of our very talented parents – Mrs Markovits – who has been helping out with Orchestra. We’re very grateful for the time, commitment and talent that she is able to offer. Thank you. On Tuesday, the Orchestra chose a few of their favourite pieces to share with each other. It was a lovely time and showed how the Orchestra have really enjoyed working together as a team, encouraging one another and making new friendships.
