This week in Year 2 we have been learning all about volume and capacity. We have compared how much capacity different containers can hold and used key words such as greater than, less than and equal to. We have also been measuring the volume of liquids in millilitres and litres. Mrs Grogan found out a very interesting fact for us from her daughter who is a lifeguard. She said that it would take 2.5 million litres to fill a large swimming pool. We know that they recommend an adult drinks 2 – 4 litres of water a day and if we had to drink the same amount of litres in a swimming pool it would take us over 3,300 years.
In Science, we have been outside exploring things that are living, dead or never alive. We has lots of fun working together and we found lots of great examples around our playground.
