This week our Orchestra and Key Stage 2 choir performed at the Alban Arena as part of the St Albans Primary School Music Association concert. The concert was entitled ‘One World’ and featured songs from all around the world including Africa, Japan, Poland and Italy.
The Orchestra performed 2 pieces – ‘Africa’ by Toto and ‘The triumphal entry’ from the opera ‘Aida.’ It has been a wonderful experience for them to be part of a large orchestra and working with children from other schools.
It was such a wonderful experience for all the children involved and they all sang and played brilliantly. The children had a lot of words to learn – in different languages too!
Our Choir has almost made it through to the final round of the Hertfordshire Music Festival Choral Competition and will competing against four other schools at a live final in April. Even to get the final is a huge achievement! We are so proud of them and wish them lots of luck for the final.
Thank you to all the parents who have helped with getting children to and from rehearsals and performances. Your support is very much appreciated.
