On Monday this week we had ‘Lightning Lauren’ from the Mad Science organisation presenting two assemblies for the children. The KS1 children enjoyed the bangs, whooshes and surprises she sprung on them in their assembly when she showed what reactions are caused when two or three elements are combined. Later in the morning it was KS2’s turn. They were intrigued by the ‘flash paper’ which caught alight and disappeared in front of them and by the ‘indoor fireworks’ which were tiny pieces of metal that glowed different colours and sparkled when heated. All the children had an exciting time and were sad to see Lightning Lauren leave at the end of the assembly.
