There have been lots of exciting things happening in year 2 this week. On Tuesday Mrs McIntyre, our librarian, visited us to tell us about an exciting Summer reading challenge. This is being run by Hertfordshire libraries. The children watched a video presented by St. Albans librarians in which they were encouraged to visit a library and borrow books over the summer holidays. On Wednesday Mrs Betteley, our soon to be french teacher, visited our classrooms. We took part in a French taster session, where we learnt how to say ‘my name is’ in French how to say how old we are. On Thursday we had a very exciting day in our new Year 3 classrooms. The children toured the upper site to find out where everything is and had a great time playing on the ‘Astroturf’. To focus our minds on the upcoming |Olympic games the children started to make medals in their art and DT session this week.
