We’ve had a fun filled week in year 3, most notably with our Egyptian themed history day. The children really enjoyed dressing up for ‘Egyptian Day’ and came to school in fabulous costumes which made them look like the ancient kings and queens of Egypt. We learnt a lot about Egyptian culture, crafts, religion and customs in our morning sessions and in the afternoon the children put on a banquet for the Pharaoh and the Queen. This consisted of wonderfully acted plays, beautifully performed dances and brilliantly told stories, all of which pleased the Pharaoh very much, although the Queen was more difficult to please! The children had a great day and went home with all the fruits of their hard labour as Pharaoh’s minions.
