This half term Year 3 have been studying the topic of ‘Light and Shadows’ in their science lessons. We have looked at how the eye sees, when light bounces off an object and enters into our pupils. We have also learnt about how light is perfectly reflected from a plane mirror surface and how an image can be distorted by a concave or a convex mirror. The children have enjoyed carrying out investigations one of which involved creating a ‘total darkness’ den to block out all traces of light. They have also enjoyed testing reflective materials using torches and blocking light to create shadows.
