What an incredibly busy week for KS1!! The children put on three performances of their play ‘Do Not Be Afraid’, which was a wonderful and unique rendition of the Nativity Story. They have worked incredibly hard over the past few weeks and all of the rehearsals have certainly paid off! Year 2 were put to the test by having to learn so many lines and actions, but the children delivered these perfectly on the day. We think they have become fantastic actors in such a short space of time too! The singing and dancing was performed beautifully by all the Year 1 and 2 children.
We would like to thank everyone that helped to make this such a special performance. KS1 teachers and teaching assistants have been working tirelessly over the past few weeks to bring this play to life. From creating a backdrop for the stage, to making props, organising costumes, helping the children learn their lines and getting the children ready to perform 7 songs with actions. We are very proud of all the children and feel it was such a special occasion to bring the nativity to life this year for all of the parents, carers and families! A special mention has to be made for Mia Broom and Alba Amoros that very bravely stepped in on Thursday and played both of their roles brilliantly.
However, the show wasn’t over yet! On Friday morning, the KS1 children welcomed grandparents and relatives for our ‘Grandparents Christmas Tea’. This was a very special event and the children were honoured to perform some of their nativity songs for their grandparents while they enjoyed some cake and tea!! Thank you also to Mrs Flatt and the choir that prepared and performed two of their own songs for the morning. The children were amazing! I am sure we can all agree they have made us all very proud and we are all well and truly in the Christmas Spirit now.
