As we begin the season of Autumn, we think about Harvest time and about those less fortunate than ourselves. Last year, all the children across the school donated food and other items to St Albans Foodbank and to the Women’s Refuge. It was very gratefully received and many people benefited from your generosity.
Given the current circumstances, now more than ever, we have a duty to help the people in our local community by supporting our local foodbanks and other support groups and so we would like to ask for donations of items during the month of October.
Please give whatever items you can to help out. Below is a list from the St Albans Foodbank website of items that they are lacking in, as well as a few more items.
Most Needed Items (we prefer long-life and tins)
• Fruit juice (long life)
• Rice pudding (Tinned)
• Instant mash / tinned potatoes
• Jams and spreads
• Desserts (Jellies, Steamed puddings, Angel delight etc )
• Laundry tablets/ liquids/ gels
• Toothpastes
• Shampoo and conditioners
• Shower gel
• Sanitary products
Please can you give whatever you can as your donations will truly make a difference. A box will be available to donate in each of the classrooms.
