The sun shone down and the skies were blue for our 90th Anniversary Party! This year, we are celebrating 90 years since the Sisters of Mercy first founded our school on Vanda Crescent in 1934.
The PTA organised a brilliant birthday party, complete with a birthday cake and a rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ sung to the school! Families enjoyed performances from our talented cheer leading club, street dance club and the Key Stage 1 and 2 choirs, led by Mrs Flatt. A tasty of menu of pizza and candyfloss was served, and there were plenty of activities to keep everyone amused, including a party bus, a DJ and, of course, the England football match shown live in the School Hall! Year 6 quickly sold out of their wish jar stall, raising money for their leavers’ disco in a few weeks.
It was lovely to see parents and pupils, past and present, enjoying themselves in the sunshine.Thank you to everyone in our school family who came, and a particular thank you to our wonderful PTA for organising such a special occasion. Our final anniversary event is our Thanksgiving Mass next week.
