Sikhism
Year 3 really enjoyed the whole school focus on Sikhism this week. We learnt so much about the Sikh religion from both the assembly we had and the workshop that followed it. The children loved learning and the 5Ks of Sikhism and about the Sikh place of worship, the Gurdwara. They were particularly impressed by the idea of the ‘open kitchen’ or ‘langar’ and asked lots of questions about it from our guest speaker (particularly in relation to food).
The Pyramids of Ancient Egypt
In history this week we studied the pyramids of Ancient Egypt. We found out how, why and when they were built and had great fun creating our own version of a pyramid from unifix cubes or other blocks that we had to hand.
