Year One have had a great first week back at school and have been enjoying the lovely sunny weather!
Our new topic is called ‘Record Breakers’ and we are learning all about the Olympic Games. We found out about the symbol of the Olympic Rings and learnt that the coloured rings represent the different Continents that join in for the Olympic Games. We made our topic book covers and some children made flags for the different countries that will be taking part.
We have been working on improving our own sporting skills during our outdoor learning.
We have also been thinking about the wildlife in our outdoor area at school. Some children enjoyed building a bug hotel, which looks amazing! We are all looking forward to having our Green Day next week, when we will get to do lots more fun learning outside.
In maths we have been learning how to group objects in different ways and we have found out about how multiplication and division are linked.
In Science we have been learning about different animals that live in the sea. In Class 1T we have decided to make our role-play area into a beach with an ice-cream shop. Class 1L are still deciding what they would like to have. We will share some photographs when our role-play areas are ready.
