I must begin by saying what a wonderful start to SSAS life the children have had in Acorns this week. What a wonderful group of children, they have settled better than I anticipated. This weeks blog is focused on the outside area. The children have been learning all the rules regarding the outside area, such as not using the big climbing frame (this has upset some) and how to take turns on the bikes (this has also upset some). We were very lucky today, our environmental teacher visited us and we were able to do some planting with the children. They planted their very own lettuce, which they were allowed to take home (please remember to water) and we also planted onions and garlic in the garden. Next week sees the grand unavailing of our new sandpit shed, which the children have observed receiving its final touches.
Slightly off focus, I have added a photo of the children during lunch. There have been many comments from other members of staff on how well the Acorns children sit and eat their lunch. A great start for everyone.
